September sees the publication of the final report in our 2023 Global Top 30 series. This Global Top 30 in Europe marks the first time that we have set out to assess the Continental European bench strength of 30 top-tier global firms. For the purposes of this report, we do not include the United Kingdom in our counts, but focus solely on mainland Europe and its key financial centres.

The report ranks the 30 largest international firms by the size of their partnership on the Continent and analyses firms’ headcounts in Europe’s five key financial centres: Germany, France, Benelux, Italy and Iberia. The report also groups firms into four distinct categories based on the size of their partnerships: Giants (300+ partners), Heavyweights (200–299 partners), Mid-tier (100–199 partners) and Minnows (99 or fewer partners). Finally, we look at what proportion of global partnerships are concentrated in Europe. Of the Global Top 30 in Europe, just four firms were found to have more than 50 per cent of their entire global partnerships based in Continental Europe. Most of the firms featured in this report have fewer than a third of their partnerships there, although many of them also have significant partnerships in the UK because Europe (taken in its entirety) continues to hold significant sway for these global businesses.

To find out which firms have the biggest European partnerships and which have the highest concentration of partners in Continental Europe read the full report now.
