Shoosmiths won employer of the year at the coveted Women in Credit Awards, in London, while Karen Savage, national commercial recoveries services group partner, snapped up the business leader of the year award.

The judging panel included leading women Anne Boden, CEO for Starling Bank, Metro Bank director (credit risk and analytics) Doriana Iovina, Finance and Leasing Association head of consumer and mortgage finance Fiona Hoyle, and Teresa Callaghan, credit manager at Mishcon de Reya and many more.

Karen was praised by the judges for her “outstanding board-level supply leadership” as well as “strategic process and communications skills”, and the multiple nominations for the award received by her clients.

Shoosmiths’ national commercial recoveries services group also won legal team of the year at last month’s CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) British Credit Awards.

Karen said: “I am absolutely thrilled to win this award, on behalf of the fantastic team and clients that I work with at Shoosmiths. The team is going from strength-to-strength and is one of the largest and most respected in the UK servicing some of the UK’s largest commercial recoveries contracts.
