Shoosmiths aims to raise £60,000 for Barnado’s by April 2014

Shoosmiths is aiming to raise at least £60,000 for Barnado’s by the end of next April. The money will enable the children’s charity to employ two specialist workers to tackle child sexual exploitation — an issue it believes is the most pressing and hidden child protection issue for UK children aged 10 and over.

Shoosmiths’ fundraising calendar has been very busy. Highlights have included its partners’ conference, where it raised more than £5,000, and a fashion show.

Colleagues at the law firm also completed an assault course, climbed the Scottish 4000s peaks in a weekend and completed marathons, quiz nights and bake sales. Its first-year trainees are also busy completing a number of ‘Apprentice Challenges’.

Shoosmiths also recently completed its annual Silent Auction, which saw staff bidding for a variety of lots donated by colleagues, clients and suppliers.
