Seven proceed with formation of ‘super set’

A group of seven leading criminal barristers last week confirmed the establishment of a new ‘super set’ in Smithfield. As first revealed by The Lawyer (27 February), Cloth Fair Chambers is being set up by five barristers from Hollis Whiteman Chambers, plus two other notable criminal silks. The seven founders comprise Julian Bevan QC, John Kelsey-Fry QC and Timothy Langdale QC of Hollis Whiteman; 23 Essex Street’s Nicholas Purnell QC; and 9-12 Bell Yard’s Edmund Lawson QC; Hollis Whiteman senior juniors Ian Winter and Richard Horwell will also join the new set.
