Leaving the British Army, Major General Tim Robinson CBE will join Schillings in January 2016 as a partner.
Robinson will help clients to protect their reputations and privacy from the wide range of threats they face. He will also further expand the spectrum of Schillings’ reputation resilience services with innovative new methods and front line techniques.
This latest appointment follows the news earlier this year that Magnus Boyd has re-joined Schillings as a partner, following previous partnership roles with Carter Ruck and Hill Dickinson.
“An experienced and talented problem solver and proven battlefield leader, Robinson’s expertise as both strategist and tactician brings an exciting new dimension to our multidisciplinary team of reputation and privacy protection experts, comments Rod Christie-Miller, chief executive and partner at Schillings. ‘‘Robinson will work with clients to give them new solutions for old problems and will lead combined teams not only to put out reputational fires but also work on long term mandates to identify and mitigate ongoing reputation and privacy threats. His appointment is a pioneering move, placing a senior military leader at the heart of a ground-breaking law firm.’
Robinson is a leading light of his Army generation. During a military career spanning two decades, Robinson saw active service leading troops in Iraq, Bosnia and Northern Ireland. He was the Army’s director of operations, worked in Whitehall and at the Ministry of Defence’s think-tank.
He has led organisations of up to 6,000 people and leaves the Army as the chief of staff of its Land Forces command. He is an experienced project manager and corporate reformer. A top graduate of the British military’s Higher Command and Staff Course, he also holds masters degrees in Business Administration and Defence Studies and has a degree in Law.
Robinson comments: “I am thrilled to be joining Schillings at this exciting time in the firm’s distinguished history. Schillings has redefined what it means to be a law firm. It is the only business in the world to couple an award- winning reputation and privacy legal offering with risk consulting, cyber and intelligence expertise. I look forward to adding my experience and expertise to Schillings as we provide clients with outstanding, tailor-made strategies to protect their reputations and safeguard their privacy – whatever the threat.”
Robinson’s appointment follows a successful FY14/15 for Schillings with growth of 15 per cent, with the firm reporting growth of 25 per cent for the current financial year.
