It is good to see some in-house teams favour strong relationships over massive cost-cutting panel reviews. All six of the international corporate firms on Standard Chartered Bank’s panel have kept their places after its most recent review.

Allen & Overy, Baker & McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Lovells are safe for another year.

Standard Chartered is a highly acquisitive bank, but head of legal policy Susan Adams said she feels confident each of the firms can offer the expertise needed to advance the organisation’s strategy on expansion into the Middle East and Asia.

Now that Adams has come to the end of the four-month global review, she has launched the bank’s review of UK panel firms. Don’t expect too many surprises.
