Benefits Street’s ‘Black Dee’, real name Samora Roberts, was jailed for seven years for keeping live ammunition in her home – in which the judge describes it as where she ran an “open-all-hours drugs business.
Roberts was found in possession of over £5,000 of Class A drugs as well as bullets which was hidden in a pink trainer under a washing basket.
She admitted to seven counts of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and was found guilty of possessing cocaine and heroine between March and June 2013.
She was also found guilty of possessing 11.38 Smith and Wesson cartridges without a firearms certificate.
No5 Barrister Samantha Forsyth said police also found £1,500 of cannabis in 13 bags and bullets hidden in Roberts’ home on 14 June 2013.
Ms Forsyth added “Numerous people were going back and forth to the house day and night, of all ages. Some were addicts and some were not.
“There were children in the vicinity and deals would tale place on the door step or behind the door.
“Miss Roberts is now 33 and has come before the courts before, in particular in relation to drug matters.
“In October 2001 in Jamaica, she was dealt with for attempting to export and supply cannabis, for which she served a relatively short custodial sentence.”
