Russell Jones & Walker (RJW) is preparing to battle an equal pay claim against the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the European Court of Justice.
The Court of Appeal ruled last week that RJW client Bernadette Cadman, an HSE inspector based in Manchester, could take her case to Europe.
Cadman will argue that seniority-based systems have a disproportionate impact on women. She is alleging that male colleagues in the same grade at the HSE were being paid between £5,000 and £7,000 more than she was.
RJW employment partner Edward Cooper is advising Cadman and her union, Prospect.
