ACS:Law will have some sympathy for the eight alleged illegal file sharers it attempted to sue after the firm was caught with its pants down by a judge.
In an embarrassing moment for the firm, the judge threw out the cases against the alleged porn movie hackers after it turned out that three of them had not been served with proceedings (see story).
Oops. Well, we all forget the odd thing in the heat of the moment, don’t we?
Coming on top of that news is the double whammy that ACS could now face a fine of up to £500,000 in light of a probe into a data breach that saw 5,000 adult entertainment fans have their details splurged all over the internet.
