Provalis’s sole in-house lawyer has been made redundant following the struggling company’s decision to put itself into liquidation.
Legal director Lee Greenbury will be leaving the pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics business at the end of the September after eight years.
Greenbury joined Provalis in July 1998 following a spell at high street chemist Boots. He will stay on as director of some of the company’s subsidiaries throughout the liquidation process. The liquidation of the company is subject to a shareholder vote scheduled for 5 September.
Provalis’s decision to go into voluntary liquidation follows the sale of its pharmaceuticals business to Kogen for £10.5m earlier this year. The company has also decided to sell its remaining diabetes testing business. The move follows technical problems with its in2it diabetes monitor and disappointing sales at its pharmaceuticals business.
