Pinsent Masons has become the latest firm to launch a paralegal apprenticeship scheme.

The firm has signed up with the University of Law and Damar Training to deliver the two-year programme, which will begin in November.

Four apprentices will work in the firm’s London office and be paid a starting salary of £18,000.

There further vacancies in the firm’s Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds offices, all paying a salary of £15,500.

The firm is asking for a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English, as well as three Bs at A Level.

It is also recruiting up to six finance apprentices, who will work to gain a professional accounting qualification.

Pinsent Masons head of recruitment and graduate development Deborah McCormack said: “We strive to be a market-leading graduate and apprenticeship employer, and developer of both tomorrow’s lawyers and business operations’ talent. Providing innovative new pathways into our business and profession through a blend of graduate and apprenticeship opportunities widens the talent pool we have access to and the ways in which candidates can engage and connect with Pinsent Masons. Our new apprentices will have the exciting opportunity to help our business shape and evolve our apprenticeship offering and we know they will have a lot to contribute to that process.”

Pinsents has also extended its contract with ULaw to deliver the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course for its future trainee solicitors.

Other firms to have launched apprenticeship schemes include Eversheds, Dentons and Burges Salmon.
