Osborne Clarke has retained 11 of its 12 qualifying trainees this autumn, a 92 per cent retention rate.
Five of the 11 will work as newly qualified (NQ) solicitors in the firm’s Bristol office, with four taking up roles in London and two in Reading.
The corporate, projects and commercial litigation teams will each take two NQs. Banking, commercial, planning, construction litigation and employment will all take one each.
It means that in the six rounds since spring 2014, the commercial department has taken the most NQs – 23 per cent of those that have stayed on in total.

The firm retained all seven of its qualifiers in March.
Meanwhile, Mills & Reeve has retained 75 per cent of its qualifiers. The firm offered NQ positions to 14 of its 16 trainees, with 12 accepting.
Eight of the NQs will work in the firm’s Cambridge headquarters, with two taking up jobs in Birmingham and one apiece in Manchester and Norwich.
Five NQs join the corporate and commercial team, three go to real estate, and one each to commercial disputes, private client, employment and banking. It means that, like Osborne Clarke, the commercial team has taken on the most trainees in recent years.
