Olswang has acted for longstanding client BDO Stoy Hayward on its acquisition of Chiltern Public Limited Company’s tax advisory and consultancy business.
Corporate partner Tony Leifer led the deal, assisted by corporate associate Andrew Stott.
Chiltern is the largest independent tax advisory firm in the UK and provides specialist tax services to smaller accountants and legal practices.
The business has a particular focus on private client services, tax investigations, Pay As You Earn, remuneration consulting, VAT and corporate tax services and also has a client portfolio that includes corporates and high-net-worth individuals.
It is intended that the acquisition will be used to allow BDO to offer a greater breadth and depth of expertise to new and existing clients.
The firm has also acquired the Chiltern brand, which is well known within the industry. LG acted for Chiltern.
