As the raft of developments in the private client field continues, Ogier’s Trust Advisory Group has invited Jonathan Preshaw, head of PwC’s reward and employment team in Scotland, to Guernsey and Jersey this week to talk tax transparency, trust registers and failure to prevent the facilitation of tax evasion and how these affect the Channel Islands.

While these are changes to UK law, they have direct and important implications for trustees and other private client advisors in the Channel Islands. Jonathan will deliver his seminar “The new Trust Register and the Requirement to Correct” in Guernsey tomorrow, Thursday 28th September, at Old Government House and in Jersey on Friday 29th September at Ogier’s offices, 44 Esplanade.

Sally Edwards, Ogier’s global head of private client and trusts, said: “We are very pleased that Jonathan can join us for these sessions that look at where we find ourselves, ongoing responsibilities and what to expect. “The seminar will be invaluable for anybody working in the private client field.”

Advocate Marcus Leese, the practice partner of Ogier’s Guernsey team, said: “The Channel Islands are affected in important respects by recent UK regulatory changes. “The pace and scale of the changes that we have seen in the last 12 months affect our industry, and practitioners need to keep themselves up to date.”
