Ogier partners Raulin Amy and Simon Dinning are heading to Cape Town for the Mining Indaba – the world’s largest mining investment event.

Jersey and BVI’s relationship with Africa continues to grow and, with rising commodity prices, the gathering of more than 2,000 companies in and around the natural resources sector is expected to be buoyant.

Simon said: “Opportunities for our jurisdictions to work across the African continent have become much more diverse.

“Natural resources remains a good source of work, but we have also been engaged in deals involving telecoms, hotels and leisure and pharmaceuticals.

“The Mining Indaba is a great opportunity for us to catch and with friends in the space and to develop relationships which have been growing over the last six years that we have attended.”

The event takes place from 5-8 February. Simon will also be in Johannesburg on 1 and 2 February.
