James Lydeard from Ogier’s corporate, banking and finance team and Shaun Maloney from the firm’s dispute resolution team have been promoted to senior associate in the firm’s Cayman office.

Lydeard, who has been a member of the banking and finance team in Cayman led by partner Angus Davison for two years, works on a wide range of banking and finance matters for both borrowers and lenders, including real estate, structured and fund finance matters.

Lydeard also provides regulatory advice and assists clients with a variety of general corporate matters. He joined Ogier after four years’ experience in the London market.

Maloney has been with Ogier for more than three years and is a member of the dispute resolution team in Cayman led by partner Rachael Reynolds. He is a commercial litigator with extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes relating to trusts, insolvency, restructuring, shareholder issues, directors duties, professional negligence, regulatory investigations, as well as fraud and asset tracing claims.

Maloney’s promotion comes as the team’s contentious insolvency offering continues to grow.

The promotions come at a time of sustained growth for Ogier’s Cayman Law offering, with a number of promotions across the firm including Piers Dryden and Joanne Huckle to partner, Ben Gillooly to counsel and Justin Savage to managing associate.
