Although the firm was officially founded in May 2010, it consists of lawyers with previous experience in prominent law offices, with years of cooperation with international law firms. This signifies that the track record of the attorneys includes working on the most important transactions on the territory of Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As a result of the first year commitments, we have been ranked at Chambers Europe 2011 and Chambers Global 2011. Furthermore, NSTLAW was one of the law firms awarded by the International Financial Law Review (IFRL) for the Project finance deal of the year in 2010.

Our lawyers are often lecturers at the conferences specialized in foreign investment, real estate development, PPP and sport. In 2010, we were panelists at Real Estate Balkan Exhibition and Conference (REBEC), Master PPPlan Serbia 2010 Conference and Privatization in Sports organized by the daily newspapers Danas.

Banking and finance

The firm’s banking and finance related practice includes representation of clients in all aspects of financing transactions. These transactions range from origination and negotiation to documentation and closing, and when necessary, to enforcement of remedies and agreements for workout and reorganisation.

Clients retain the firm to represent them in the various capacities in financing transactions, as agents, senior lenders or other syndicate members, sellers or purchasers of participation, assignors or assignees of direct loan interests, letter of credit issuers, trustees and arrangers or purchasers of capital market instruments. Dispute resolution

NSTLAW regularly acts as a local counsel of international law firms in international dispute resolution matters. Our lawyers are listed as arbiters with the arbitration of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Due to world financial crisis, Serbia has been experiencing increase in number of cases and requests for representation before the courts, especially certain “bet the company” litigations where NSTLAW has been particularly successful.

Real estate and construction

NSTLAW real estate practice encompasses initial planning, acquisition, financing, investment, development, construction, management and sales. The lawyers advise clients in all phases of the real estate projects, from providing counsel in due diligence process, contract negotiations during the acquisition phase and resolving of technical issues, to assisting the clients with management during the operations phase and lease and sell of the property. Nenad StankovicNenad Stankovic

specialises in the field of international business law with special emphasis on M&A, Real Estate, Project Financing, Infrastructure, Dispute Resolution and Public Private Partnerships. He is also devoting particular interest and time to the clients undergoing enforcement procedure, alternative dispute resolution process, representing clients in bankruptcy, banking transactions, and general commercial law matters. In the field of labor law, Mr. Stankovic specialises in drafting of labor contracts, including management contracts; employment of foreign citizens, and creation and implementation of the programs of mass redundancy of the employees.

Mr. Stankovic has represented clients in some of most complex transactions in Serbia and in Montenegro, including advising of the world’s biggest brewery in selling of its business in Serbia and Montenegro (deal value is 3bn USD), advising of the foreign state controlled foreign bank in granting of the railway infrastructure financing in Montenegro, as well as railway infrastructure in Serbia, a real estate developer from Israel in developing of 120.000 m2 business and residential project in Belgrade, developing of the Airport Belgrade cargo hub, developing of the waste water treatment plants in PPP mode, e.

Zvonko RadovanovicZvonko Radovanovic

is an expert in the field of international corporate law. Mr. Radovanovic has extensive experience working on the cases related to privatization, project financing, enforcement procedure, alternative dispute resolution and general commercial law matters. Mr. Radovanovic is mainly in charge of establishing the securities and enforcement of the collateralized debts in the infrastructure and PPP projects, as well as post acquisition restructuring. His main projects were securitization of the property of the biggest Serbian brewery in post closing procedure, advising foreign state controlled bank in securitization of the credits granted for developing of the railway infrastructure in Serbia and Montenegro.

Ljiljana UrzikicLjiljana Urzikic Stankovic

has significant experience in cooperation with lawmakers of Serbia, including Ministry of Justice, Central Register of Securities, Privatization Agency and Business Registers Agency (including Register of Pledges), as well as Serbian Cadastral Authority. She had active role in drafting of the enforcement laws (including drafts of the laws related with introduction of the private bailiff system in Serbia) as member of the working group appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia. She is an expert for securitization in the project financing.

Milos AndrovicMilos Androvic

Born in Belgrade in 1979; graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law with major in Internal Law. Attended and graduated from the advance postgraduate LL.M. in European Business Law at Amsterdam Law School, with specialization in Competition Law and International Tax Law.

Milos serves as legal advisor in NSTLAW after acquiring extensive experience working in both public and private sector in Serbia and Montenegro dealing with business, policy and law and in international organizations on international criminal law.

Tijana KovacevicTijana Kovacevic

attorney at law in NSTLAW, deals with international and domestic corporate clients related to M&A, and general corporate law.

Tijana advises clients on matters related to banking and finance, bankruptcy and liquidation procedures, law of intellectual property and tax law.

Tijana finished her LLB studies at the Faculty of Law, Belgrade University, with major in international law.

Sara PendjerSara Pendjer

attorney at law in NSTLAW. Born in Belgrade in 1988; graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law in 2010, with major in business law. Finished LL.M studies at University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law, Master of European Integrations.

Sara deals with international and domestic corporate clients related to M&A, privatization, dispute resolution (including litigation and alternative dispute resolution), public law, banking and finance and energy law.

Sara is fluent in English and French.

Ivan MileticIvan Miletic

Ivan is an attorney at law in Law office Stankovic and Partners. In his legal practice, Ivan primarily focuses on commercial matters, M&A, dispute resolution, enforcement, real estate and labor law matters.

He has comprehensive experience in various legal matters and procedures. He has worked on major projects and large assignments for international and domestic corporate clients.

Ivan graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law in 2010. In 2012, he finished LLM studies at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law, specializing in business law within Judicial-Administrative Profile.

He is a member of the Serbian Bar Association. Ivan is fluent in English language.
