Not so Fresh

A year on and Freshfields has decided to lift the freeze (see story), in a cost-incurring move that is unlikely to win the firm the same level of plaudits.

With inflation now sitting at 3.5 per cent, it was only a matter of time before those cash-strapped lawyers felt short-changed after drawing the same salary for two years.

It’ll take a lot more than a salary thaw to inflate Freshfields’ NQ pay to the levels offered by Bingham, though (see story).
