Norton Rose re-elects Lewis

Norton Rose has opted to maintain the status quo and have voted in senior partner, David Lewis for a second three-year term.

Lewis's re-election, which was uncontested, follows the recent agreement within the firm to give managing partner, Roger Birkby a third crack of the whip.

A mergers and acquisitions lawyer, Lewis will continue to combine that practice with the post of Senior Partner.

The Lewis and Birkby combination has seen something of a boom period at the City firm – the 11th biggest firm in the UK. Average profits per partner were reported at £402,000 for 1998/99 and fee income rose almost 15 per cent to £117 million in the same period.

Lewis says: “I am very pleased and proud to have been re-elected as Senior Partner of Norton Rose for a further three years. The firm is doing extremely well and developing fast, I look forward to further exciting developments over the next three years”.
