Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) has increased its NQ salaries from £95,000 to £105,000, an 11 per cent uplift.

The firm said in a statement newly-qualified lawyers who achieve the required hours may also receive a bonus between £118,125 to £147,000, inclusive of base salary and performance bonus.

The firm is also raising salaries throughout the UK associate pay scale. The rise will come into effect in September 2022.

Additionally, NRF is handing out a rising cost of living uplift to its staff. In a statement, it said: “Given the ongoing cost of living crisis, and to provide sustained, longer term support to our people we will increase salaries by at least five per cent up to a maximum of 10 per cent for all UK FTE employees who earn under £48,000, effective September 1, 2022.”

In November last year, the firm upped its NQ salaries by 12 per cent from £85,000 to £95,000

Since last summer, UK-heritage law firms have been under pressure to increase base rates to £100,000 and above in London.

In May, Clifford Chance rose its NQ salaries to £125,000, with Freshfields doing the same. However, Allen & Overy and Linklaters are holding firm, keeping their pay packets for NQs at £107,500.
