News in brief

Brick Court Chambers has announced that Lord Cooke of Thorndon is to restart a door tenancy at the set. Lord Cooke will specialise in arbitration and mediation work from 4 June after his retirement as a Law Lord. He follows Sir Oliver Popplewell and Sir Robert Gatehouse, both retired members of the judiciary who now conduct arbitration and mediation practices from the chambers. New Zealand-born Lord Cooke was President of the Court of Appeal in New Zealand between 1986 and 1996, and was then appointed as a Lord of Appeal.
