The “3 pieces of advice” series was born in 2019 as part of our annual event for in-house lawyers. These brief 5-minute slots were created as a platform for attendees to volunteer to share work and life advice with their fellow peers.

Our latest video in the series features Simply Business general counsel and company secretary Joanne Theodoulou, sharing her top 3 tips on how to look after your mental health during lockdown:

About Joanne:

A lawyer by profession, Joanne trained and spent many years at city firm Linklaters, specialising in derivatives and structured financial products before moving on to build and lead the London legal team at Spanish bank, BBVA. Prior to her current role at Simply Business, she was the General Counsel of NetOTC, a start up in the financial services sector. Regulation, compliance and governance have all been part of her remit.

Joanne sits on the Board of Trustees of Mind, the UK’s leading mental health charity. Mind provides advice and support for anyone experiencing a mental health problem – campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Joanne brings to her board role a compassionate understanding based on experience, and with it the vital message of hope.

She also sits on the board of the Social Mobility Business Partnership, and was the former Head of Governance of Women in Banking and Finance.
