Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw lawyers are not widely known as a bunch of stoners. Still, corporate partner Peter Dickinson appears to be doing his best to ramp up the firm’s ganja credentials.
Dickinson has just advised GW Pharmaceuticals on a £25m marketing deal with Bayer (advised by legendary caners Bristows) for the pioneering cannabis-based drug Sativex.
Apparently, the ‘gear’ is administered by way of a spray into the mouth, so no Rizlas.
According to Dickinson, however, there were no deals struck in darkened Amsterdam coffee shops. “We all took the product and the negotiations extremely seriously,” maintains Dickinson. As a former policeman, you can trust what the man says. Honest
