Monckton head appointed Public Law Commissioner

The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) has appointed Monckton Chambers’ joint head Kenneth Parker QC as the new Public Law Commissioner.

Parker will leave Monckton to take up his new role full-time. His former joint-head of chambers Paul Lasok QC becomes sole head of chambers.

Parker’s tenure will last for five years, starting from 1 January 2006. He replaces Professor Martin Partington as head of the Law Commission’s public law team.

Parker joins four other commissioners, who together review and recommend reform to the law of England and Wales. He arrives at the commission ahead of a wide-ranging review of remedies against public bodies. The salary for the post is £112,020.
