MoJ names first HMCS chief executive

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has appointed its first chief executive for Her Majesty’s Courts Service (HMCS) since it announced the new court structure in January.

HMCS North West regional director Chris Mayer is the new chief executive. She succeeds Sir Ronald De Witt, who held the post for four years. A new structure for the HMCS, announced at the end of January, sees the leadership of the service stay in the hands of a board of 11 members, including the chief executive.
