Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) has boosted its Hong Kong office with the hire of two partners from US rivals.
Corporate finance and IPO specialist Edward Li joins from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and private equity partner Marcia Ellis moves from Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison.
They become the fourth and fifth partner level lateral hires for MoFo’s international offices this week, after the firm hired three partners in London.
MoFo raided Freshfields for capital markets specialists Peter Green and Jeremy Jennings-Mares as well as Ashurst for IT outsourcing partner Chris Coulter.
MoFo has 150 lawyers working out of five offices in Asia, making it one of the largest US firms in the region.
MoFo managing partner Ken Wetmore said: “This year marks the 25th anniversary of the firm’s presence in Asia, and we are continuing to grow the practice.”
