Mills & Reeve has become the second firm to publish its retention figures for autumn 2020.

It will retain 15 trainees in full-time newly-qualified roles, plus one additional one on a fixed-term contract, out of a total of 18 reaching qualification.

Six join the employment team, two go to commercial, IP and IT (CIPIT), two to family, and the others to insurance litigation, real estate litigation, health litigation, construction, projects, and real estate.

Five of the NQs will be based in the Birmingham office, six in Cambridge, two in Manchester, one in London, one in Norwich, while one will be a ‘national’ trainee.

Training partner Caroline Dean said: “Given the current unusual circumstances we are really pleased to be able to retain so many of our talented colleagues as associates, as they represent the long term future of the firm.”

Earlier this week Sidley Austin revealed its retention figures for the autumn, the first firm to do so.
