Rob Shooter

Fieldfisher

A bolder European offering is at the top of Rob Shooter’s wish-list for 2023. Since taking over as managing partner last year, the technology partner is targeting areas for “super growth” that includes wider European representation on key management boards and cross-office secondments. There may even be a few more launches on the Continent too.

Shooter is now at the helm of a firm that has seen considerable growth over a short period. But the expansion project, luckily aided by the firm’s existing focus on tech, life sciences and energy, now moves into the next phase as he seeks greater integration across the global network. Closer to home, Shooter is closely inspecting a raft of HR policies covering life events leave, pregnancy loss and disability leave, along with the appointment of a new chief information officer Nigel Lang to drive a significant upgrade of the firm’s IT systems. A decision will also be expected from Shooter on whether Fieldfisher remains at his flagship London HQ come 2026. No pressure.
