Pervinder Kaur wears many hats: she’s head of office in Addleshaw Goddard Leeds, head of the firm’s private capital group, a champion of legal tech and, of course, an avid gardener.
But it’s her diversity and inclusion hat that stood out last year. Indeed, in February 2022, Kaur co-founded the Stronger Together network in Leeds to raise the profile of racial diversity, inclusion and equality in the sector. She has united the Big Four accounting firms and Leeds’s six largest law firms to build a network and mentor programme to share experiences of equality and diversity challenges, and approaches and ideas to overcome those barriers.
D&I will continue to play a key role for Kaur in 2023 – along with her love of fee-earning and advising her high-net-worth clients – but she also plans to spend her final year as head of office to give back to the community, whether that be organising more events such as a poetry campaign for Leeds’ Light Night or considering ways to mitigate the cost of living. All while keeping an eye on her garden to see if those 150 tulips that she planted in the autumn will make it to spring.
