Melissa La Hood was Head of the Commercial Banking Litigation team at Lloyds Banking Group for five years, before taking up the role as Executive Assistant for Kate Cheetham, the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary for two years. In November 2021, Melissa returned to Litigation & Contentious Regulatory (LCR) in the newly created role of ‘Head of Litigation & Contentious Projects’. In this role, Melissa supports the LCR General Counsel, Ajneet Jassey, and relevant Heads of Legal, in relation to high profile and high-volume litigation and contentious projects with potential Group-wide impacts.
Melissa also supports the shaping and implementation of LCR’s strategic objectives, including reviewing and revamping the team’s operating model to become a more agile, multi-skilled, in-house contentious legal team of the future. In a significant contribution to delivery of these objectives, in 2022, Melissa spearheaded the creation and implementation of the LCR Agile team, which now reports to her.
