Mathieu joined the General Electric Company in 2001 out of the London office. He held a number of positions within GE Energy businesses, such as Senior Counsel Europe for Energy Services, global head of legal for Power Generation Services and General Counsel EMEA for Energy Connections. He was promoted to GE Executive in 2006. He transferred to Barcelona in 2008 and was until recently General Counsel of GE Power in Western Europe. Prior to joining GE, he practiced as a litigation attorney in Montréal, Québec, and as a partner in Greece’s largest law firm, based in Athens. Mathieu obtained a Business Administration degree at the Maisonneuve College in Montréal, common law and civil law degrees from McGill University in Montréal, a Masters in European law from the Panthéon-Assas University in Paris and a Greek law degree. Mathieu speaks French, English, Greek, Italian, Catalan and Spanish. He is married and has two boys.
