Kandarp Thakar is Uber’s legal director for Commercial UKI and Real Estate EMEA and has been at Uber for over 4 years. He spent the initial part of his career in the real estate, finance and capital market departments of Baker & McKenzie before moving to DLA Piper in the Middle East. Thereafter he led the legal department of a fast-growing subsidiary of a sovereign wealth fund before moving to Uber in February 2016.
He now heads up the commercial legal team in the UK which deals with a wide range of commercial issues, including complex and innovative commercial transactions as well as dealing with day to day transactional legal issues and problem solving. Kandarp works closely with the UK business across a number of different products advising on strategic commercial transactions. He lives in London with his wife and two young children.
