Elizabeth McGlone

Didlaw

Employment lawyer Elizabeth McGlone hit the ground running when she joined Didlaw in April last year following her maternity leave, continuing to secure her name in the women’s rights space through her legal practice.

McGlone has been representing Sarah Summers, a sexual abuse survivor, in her case against Brighton’s Rape Crisis Centre Survivors’ Network, which allegedly refused to provide her with a women-only peer support group. She was also on for journalist and writer Julie Bindel, who received an apology from Nottingham City Council last October after it cancelled her talk on violence against women. Later this year, social worker Maria Rooney’s case will be heard, with McGlone representing her. Rooney has claimed against Leicester City Council for discrimination connected to the menopause.

Another area of passion for McGlone is supporting those with varying disabilities, working with organisations such as British Sign Language. McGlone has also been developing a practice in neurodiversity in adults, supporting those diagnosed with ADHD or autism later in life that have found themselves struggling to get reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
