After being made partner at Mayer Brown in 2022 after only six months as counsel, Electra Callan’s rising fame is a result of winning and spearheading some of the most innovative deals in the mid-market throughout 2023.
Despite the spectre of higher interest rates, Callan won new client Sullivan Street Partners and advised as, alongside Souter Investments, it snapped up Tracerco, a diagnostic services business of Johnson Matthey. Later in the summer, she also acted for new client Epiris on adding another crucial business to its portfolio, Pure Cremation.
2024 will see Callan play a role in being more involved in Mayer Brown’s partner recruitment process and continuing to build the firm’s private equity muscle on a macro level, broadening its practice into infrastructure and secondaries deals.
