Practice makes perfect: Building resilience and dealing with the loss of control in times of uncertainty

COVID-19 has led to a period of uncertainty for people, on a personal level and professional level. Lawyers in particular tend to be perfectionists and overachievers; their job is to sort out issues and control problems. This workshop will therefore focus on our illusion of control and how we can equip ourselves to cope mentally in times of uncertainty.

  • Learning to deal with situations where you lose the control that you think you’ve had, where you don’t know and can’t control outcomes
  • Understanding that resilience comes with practice and that it doesn’t come naturally to anyone
  • The importance of developing coping mechanisms and looking at the positives in every situation
  • Discussing workplace anxiety and practical tips on how to deal with it
