Fergus Speight

Royal LondonGeneral Counsel

Fergus has been General Counsel and Company Secretary at Royal London for eight years. He attends the Board and is responsible for providing legal advice and guidance across all areas of the Royal London business. Fergus has 25 years’ experience instructing law firms to help him and his team support CEOs, boards and executives on a range of matters including M&A, regulatory matters, business planning and strategic execution. Fergus has held senior posts at Resolution, Nomura, and Aviva having begun his legal career at Standard Life.

Catrin Griffiths

The LawyerEditor

Catrin Griffiths has been editor of The Lawyer, the award-winning title for the legal profession, since 2000. In that time she has widened The Lawyer’s coverage to include the global legal industry and led the magazine’s transformation into a major online brand. She won Editor of the Year at the PPA Awards in 2018. A Welsh speaker, Catrin studied French at university and recently completed a PhD in English Civil War literature. Outside her day job, she runs a choir and is a trustee of two charities, Orchestras Live and Jerwood Arts.
