A man who stored explosive substances to “defend the UK from an attack by Isis” has been found guilty of three criminal offences in which Michelle Heeley prosecutes.

Roger Smith has been found guilty of two counts of having explosive substances at his home in Nottingham. He was also found guilty of possession of a document for terrorist purposes.

Jurors at Nottingham Crown heard that the police were first made aware of Smith in June 2014 because of a dispute with neighbours.

Smith is due to be sentenced on 16 December.
