McGrigors has formed a dedicated capital markets team with the intention of ramping up its AIM capability.

Headed by London-based corporate partner Martin Finnegan, the team, which sits within the wider corporate practice, consists of five partners and 12 associates divided between the firm’s London, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

According to Finnegan the partners in the team split their time between capital markets and more general corporate work, while the associates focus solely on the former. He added that the long-term intention is for the entire group to focus on capital markets and any related M&A work.

Finnegan said that the bulk of the team’s work is likely to centre around AIM. Recent instructions include the impending flotation of an Indian oil and gas company, the firm’s first work in India.
