McDermott Will & Emery‘s head of IP Larry Cohen has defected to the London office of US firm Latham & Watkins.

Cohen is an experienced IP litigator and his loss will be another shock for McDermott, which has suffered from a string of high-profile partner departures.

This year the firm’s losses have included William Charnley, head of corporate and co-founder of the London office, to Mayer Brown, capital markets partners Andrew Croxford and Andrew Caunt to White & Case and pensions partner Danny Tsang to Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis in London, while IP litigator Duncan Curley resigned to set up on his own.

Cohen’s departure date is yet to be decided.
