Mayer Brown is to retain six of its nine qualifiers this autumn, a rate of 66 per cent.

Three of the firm’s final-seat trainees join the banking and finance team, one goes into competition and two to dispute resolution. All six will be based in the London office.

Training principal William Glassey said: “Firstly I would like to congratulate all our trainees on their successful qualification. We are also delighted that six of our trainees will be staying on in permanent positions within our practices. It is not always possible to match our trainees’ first choice with internal demand and I want to wish our three qualifiers who will be pursuing roles outside the firm the very best for the future.”

“Overall, the firm’s combined retention for 2016 is 77%, which is a solid result that reflects our long term commitment to training contracts as our primary recruitment tool.” The firm retained all four of its spring qualifiers.
