Linklaters’ Bucharest chief makes early exit

Linklaters is searching for a managing partner in Romania to replace its Bucharest chief, who left for a London private equity firm after four months in the role.

Theodore Cominos is set to join private equity firm Ethemba Capital as a partner later this year. Ethemba focuses on investments in Central and Eastern Europe and, as the firm is also a client of Linklaters, Cominos has already built up a relationship with his new employer.

Linklaters has set up an interim management committee to steer its Romanian operation while it decides on a successor for the office head role.

Central and Eastern Europe chief Jason Mogg will head the committee from his Prague base, along with former Romania managing partner Michael Schilling in Bucharest.

Cominos joined Linklaters in 2000, making partner in 2005. He took over from Schilling as head of the Romania practice this May.
