LeBoeuf hires Dentons' India chief to boost UK corporate

LeBoeuf Lamb Green & MacRae is attempting to build up its small London corporate practice by taking on the head of Denton Wilde Sapte's India group.

Corporate partner Lynn McCaw, who was appointed head of Dentons' India group in 1996, is hoping to join LeBoeuf in June.

At present, the firm's corporate department has just two partners: Joseph Ferraro, a US-qualified lawyer, and UK-qualified Anthony Richmond.

McCaw said: “What I love doing is building departments and watching them grow and I think there is an opportunity to help build the London corporate practice.”

As a qualified lawyer in the UK, New York and Canada, McCaw said she was looking forward to working with LeBoeuf's sizeable US practice, which the firm is also in the throes of bolstering.

Bankruptcy partners Neal Wolf and Todd Padnos are joining LeBoeuf's San Francisco office from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, while Orrick bankruptcy associate Brett Kitei is joining the firm's Los Angeles base. In Washington, LeBoeuf has hired former Coudert Brothers partner Stephen Best, a corporate compliance and defence litigator.

McCaw's role as head of the India group at Dentons will now be taken on by Gauri Advani, head of strategic planning in India.
