Poll of the Day

Recipe of the Day

I’ve recorded a recipe for a raspberry and pistachio cake – I’m not the best baker in the world but this cake is incredibly easy and quick to make,” Addleshaw Goddard trainee Rosalind Davies modestly says. “If you’re not able to source raspberries they can easily be substituted for a different fruit such as strawberries or blueberries.”

Dog of the day

“This is Alfie, one of my three dogs,” writes Michelle Landy of Springhouse Solicitors. “He is a Romanian street dog that I rescued several years ago and he has been ‘assisting me’ in these troubling times by keeping me company in my home office. I would love it if he could be featured with his ‘pet’ otter.”

Double dog of the day

Yes, two for the price of one today. “I thought these pictures of my dog Gus might help cheer people up,” says Georgina Wade, a trainee at Penningtons Manches Cooper. “He’s decided he wants to help out but lacks the knowledge, commitment or opposable thumbs to be of any real use. Cute though.”

Night Trouble by Petit Biscuit

Before French artist Petit Biscuit, Mehdi Benjelloun, started touring the world after the success of his album Presence, he was well-known by the listeners of Youtube channels such as Majestic Casual and Electric Pose for relaxing tunes.

Even after his most successful (and slightly more upbeat) song, Sunset Lover, came out Benjelloun still made perfect tunes for a sunny or rainy day. Night Troubles is a good example of one of those songs, soothing for these stressful times. -Ana de Liz

Get involved

Anyone in the legal sector is welcome to contribute to any of the sections of Law Against Loneliness.

Here is how to contribute to a few of the regular features we have run so far.  Everything can be sent to richard.simmons@thelawyer.com.

Video of the day

What we want are individual, personal contributions from lawyers and legal sector professionals working from home. You could be demonstrating a recipe, videoing your daily run, telling a joke, singing us a song, showing off a skill, or just telling us about your day and what you’ve been up to. We are very open to creativity – anything that uplifts or diverts.

What we don’t want is too many firm-branded videos talking about how seamlessly you have transitioned to a new way of working, please.
