The bookshop recommendations of a couple of days ago have sparked a flurry of similar suggestions; we’ll start with Fladgate partner Teresa Cullen, who nominates “this lovely online children’s bookshop – smallprint-online.com.

“It is run by Jenny, a busy mum of two young ones. Each book is chosen by her for design, content and captivating stories. Best of all the books are helpfully divided into age appropriate categories and can be wrapped (love that at this time of year) and delivered. It’s like having a Christmas elf in your pocket!”

DAC Beachcroft litigation solicitor Iona Wilson sends us a picture (actually it was a PDF which felt very official) of her cat Finn: “His strengths are napping and drafting witness statements, and he is described by his peers as a fierce advocate.”

The Lawyer Watches

Below Deck

This show has been going on for years, but I only just discovered it in the midst of fulfilling reality TV cravings, I stumbled across Below Deck on Netflix (also available on Amazon Prime and Hayu). The show takes you through the days of staff working on luxury yachts (I’m sure some of you City lawyers have been on one at MIPIM) – coping with demanding guests, unpleasant colleagues and the sexual tension that comes with living with someone for six weeks on a boat. Oh, and did I mention there are eight seasons?

Below Deck (and Below Deck Mediterranean) is the perfect tonic to escape from the drab winter days; reality TV at its best. -Amar Mehta
