Lawyers Against LonelinessRecipe of the Day

3-ingredient chocolate mug cake

“Here is a true lockdown recipe as it has only three ingredients – perfect for when you’re avoiding a supermarket trip but want something sweet,” writes DAC Beachcroft associate Emma Gonzalez

“It’s super speedy (can be created in less than a billable unit) and as a bonus is gluten free.”

1 egg – 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder – ¼ cup (or 4 tbsp) icing sugar

Method: Mix it together evenly in a mug and microwave for 50-60 seconds depending on wattage. Now, if you fancy going a bit avant garde with the recipe, I can recommend putting half the mix into a mug, then following with a dollop of peanut butter or a plump marshmallow before covering with the remaining cake mix and nuking it.

Thanks to Denver-based senior associate Russell Hedman of Hogan Lovells for this catchy pop effort…

Poll of the day

NB: This poll is not meant to shame unproductive people: we all have off-days.

Dog of the day

Will Taborn of Taborns LLP sends through pictures of Dita von Dachshund and Schumi.

“Dita is three and is named after Dita von Teese. A diva and with a boldness so fierce it borders on rash, don’t be fooled by those looks. Dita is aloof and has been ‘social distancing’ for at least two and a half years.

Meanwhile, “Schumi is named after Michael Schumacher, is one year old, and utterly different from the breed norm. In fact so much so, that we are thinking of training him as a therapy dog… for me at this rate!”

Anyone in the legal sector is welcome to contribute to any of the sections of Law Against Loneliness.

Here is how to contribute to a few of the regular features we have run so far.  Everything can be sent to richard.simmons@thelawyer.com.

Video of the day

What we want are individual, personal contributions from lawyers and legal sector professionals working from home. You could be demonstrating a recipe, videoing your daily run, telling a joke, singing us a song, showing off a skill, or just telling us about your day and what you’ve been up to. We are very open to creativity – anything that uplifts or diverts.

What we don’t want is too many firm-branded videos talking about how seamlessly you have transitioned to a new way of working, please.
