Lawyers Against LonelinessPoll of the Day

Image of the Day

From Philip Turner: “The Ashfords real estate partners have a daily partners meeting and this was one of those days…”

Dog of the Day

“This is Lola, a Hungarian Vizsla,” says Peter Titus of DCT Facilities Management. “While she gets her daily exercise I take a break from dealing with ever diverse and unique Covid-19 related Facilities issues for all our wonderful legal sector clients.”

“This is Loki, one of our three Maine Coons” writes private client solicitor Gail Willoughby. “Before you ask, no, he isn’t allowed in the microwave and no, he isn’t allowed on the bed either but have you ever tried training a cat?”

World Cup of Chambers

There’s still time to vote in the semi-finals over on Twitter; we have reached the celebrity endorsement stage with, ludicrously, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and Naked Attraction host Anna Richardson getting involved. We’re beyond witticisms at this point.

Following Outer Temple’s video yesterday, here are a few more of chambers’ creative efforts as they vie for your votes. They really are superb.

Booo! – Sticky ft Ms Dynamite

UK garage has mutated and synthesised into dubset and grime overtime, with grime leading to UK rap becoming a commercial force with the likes of Stormzy, Skepta, Dave and AJ Tracy. Booo! Was something of a glimpse into the future when it was released in 2001 – the combination of sparse garage backing and Ms Dynamites dancehall influenced rap hasn’t dated 19 years on. -Amar Mehta

Get involved

Anyone in the legal sector is welcome to contribute to any of the sections of Law Against Loneliness.

Here is how to contribute to a few of the regular features we have run so far.  Everything can be sent to richard.simmons@thelawyer.com.

Video of the day

What we want are individual, personal contributions from lawyers and legal sector professionals working from home. You could be demonstrating a recipe, videoing your daily run, telling a joke, singing us a song, showing off a skill, or just telling us about your day and what you’ve been up to. We are very open to creativity – anything that uplifts or diverts.

What we don’t want is too many firm-branded videos talking about how seamlessly you have transitioned to a new way of working, please.

The Lawyer Listens

Contributors should send us a YouTube link and 100 words about the song in the style of previous entries.

Dog of the day

Self-explanatory. Send us dog pix. Or cats, ponies, rabbits, budgies etc. Don’t forget to let us know their name and give us a line of detail too if you’d like.
