“What a fantastic suggestion from Helen Libson to send in independent shops for present ideas!” writes Megan Hulme, a trainee at Trowers & Hamlins.

“My favourite independent is my local cheesemonger: Rennet & Rind – they send out mystery cheese boxes (which contain five large British artisan cheeses) to all UK locations. They are a perfect gift for friends and family and also a great way to stock up on your Christmas Cheese!”

“I would love to see this included in the next edition and I look forward to see what other brilliant suggestions people have!” It has certainly sparked some interest, so look out for more suggestions next week, and send us your own at the email address at the bottom of the page.

Yesterday – Loyle Carner

After releasing is second studio album in 2019, Loyle Carner has dropped his first material of the year with the Madlib produced ‘Yesterday’. Loyle has established himself as one of the best rappers in the country. His style is a throwback go 80s and 90s rap music, rather than the grime music that dominates the charts today. After teasing his comback on social media, Loyle signalled the start to his next era with ‘Yesterday’ which premiered on BBC Radio 1.

The track finds Carner speaking out against political and social discrimination as he grows to understand the world around him – a journey through his youth.

‘Yesterday’ arrives with an official video directed by Loyle alongside his brother Ryan (The Coyle-Larner Brothers). Is this a sign of Loyle’s next album? Who knows, but I’m sure fans will be getting excited for whatever comes next from the South London rapper. -Amar Mehta
