Corporate videos can be a bit cringe but Charles Russell Speechlys‘ toilet roll challenge is actually pretty good.

Dog of the Day

Not to dissuade you from sending them in – we love it – but we do have a growing backlog of dogs queuing up, so much so that some are getting impatient.

“This is the look on Rosie’s face when we told her that she still hadn’t made it into The Lawyer’s doggie of the day…” writes BCLP lawyer Roseanna Biggs. A more pressing question, Roseanna, is: did you name the dog after yourself?

The original contribution.

Canada-based, Haitian-born DJ and producer Kaytranada came from the underground scene to becoming a well-known master of feel-good music, blending funk, soul, and R&B sounds and bass to put together infectious tracks that you will knock you off your chair for a little boogie. YOU’RE THE ONE is one of the songs from his debut album, 99.9%, a masterful compilation of Kaytranada’s sounds combined with vocals from the likes of AlunaGeorge and Craig David.

The full album is just as good as this one song, and if you find yourself wanting more, do listen to his latest album, BUBBA, where he expands and continues to showcase his singular groove. -Ana de Liz

Get involved

Anyone in the legal sector is welcome to contribute to any of the sections of Law Against Loneliness.

Here is how to contribute to a few of the regular features we have run so far.  Everything can be sent to richard.simmons@thelawyer.com.

Video of the day

What we want are individual, personal contributions from lawyers and legal sector professionals working from home. You could be demonstrating a recipe, videoing your daily run, telling a joke, singing us a song, showing off a skill, or just telling us about your day and what you’ve been up to. We are very open to creativity – anything that uplifts or diverts.

What we don’t want is too many firm-branded videos talking about how seamlessly you have transitioned to a new way of working, please.

Contributors should send us a YouTube link and 100 words about the song in the style of previous entries.

Dog of the day

Self-explanatory. Send us dog pix. Or cats, ponies, rabbits, budgies etc. Don’t forget to let us know their name and give us a line of detail too if you’d like.
