Cyprus adopts e-signatures

The EU Regulation 910/2014, known as eIDAS (the Regulation) is directly applicable to the Member States of the European Union since 1st July 2016 and it aims to establish common standards for electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions across European Union. Cyprus adopted to this regard Law 55(I)/2018 (the Law), which regulates the use of e-documents, e-signatures, e-identifications, e-seals etc, complying with the requirements of the Regulation.

Access of non-EU bidders and goods to the Cyprus public procurement market

On 24 July 2019 the European Commission issued new guidelines geared towards access of third-party nationals and corporations in the EU public procurement area, as part of a package of initiatives aiming to ensure fair competition, high quality and a level playing field in public procurement markets, regardless of origin of bidders.

Due to the recent implementation of measures regarding social distancing, isolation and restrictions on travel and movement, the logistics of a charity holding an AGM in the usual manner is not possible. The Isle of Man Attorney General has issued some guidance to assist Manx charities over the coming months.
