King & Spalding has promoted 24 lawyers to partner across 10 global offices, with one partner being appointed in London.
Current counsel Sajid Ahmed will join the international arbitration team as a partner in the City. The one London appointment matches last year’s global round in which Ruth Byrne joined the international commercial arbitration group.
Atlanta saw the highest number of appointments, with eight partners being made up. New York and Houston saw four partners being made up each, with two in Abu Dhabi and Charlotte and one in each of Washington DC, Paris, Frankfurt and Dubai.
King & Spalding’s litigation team has been boosted by the most number of promotions, followed by corporate and arbitration. In 2014, the firm elected 17 new partners, with San Francisco, Singapore and Silicon Valley all missing out this time round compared to last year.
In addition to the partner appointments, there have also been 16 new counsel appointments. Two counsel have been made up in London, namely Alex Blomfield in the global transactions team and Sarah Vasani in the international arbitration group.
